    I reflect what Piper …
I reflect what Piper is trying to warn against is that below the “prosperity gospel”, one is led to expect nothing but wealth, health and happiness. The truth is, wether you’re a christian or not, terrible times and tragedy are going to come around. And, if all you’ve been told to expect from life a christian are the excellent equipment in life, then when these terrible days come, your faith may not be what it should in order to get through it. Example: “This wasn’t supposed to happen!” or “God doesn’t care !”

3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in excellent health, just as your soul prospers. ”
Shame on John for preaching health and prosperity!

    Really the only …
Really the only thing constant about life is human scenery, that will never change.

  5. aa6757 Says:

    Isn’t that the …
Isn’t that the point of the bible in christian religion, to rule there lives? I reflect the thought is become something greater than ourselves and by doing that means to give up your life to follow christ, his teachings and what not.

    man screw these …
man screw these preachers of despise… all they talk about is what u dont do as a people… we take the bible so literally that it rules some peoples lives…. i know where he is coming from… but the gospel of exclusion is always what we preach…. gospel of despise….. never the gospel of inclusion…. now one of u will doubtless go to ur bible and quote something…. but its 2010… the only thing constant about life is change…. and christianity isnt willing to change for nothing but despise

    In HIm all equipment …
In HIm all equipment consist. Jesus lived off of money but he also gave to the poor, wasn’t trying to get caught up in some stupid debate just posted my opinion. Toke the ghost, like God and feed the poor. Concord.

  15. Cshowbread Says:

I really wasn’t trying to push anything on you. I’m so sorry if that’s how it came out. I just wanted to basically stress life make pleased.

you seem to be a …
you seem to be a kind person. I like you.

  17. summersunt Says:

    he resolute to …
he resolute to forget them. poor people with no riches forget G-D too because they do not focus on what is really vital they focus on what they reflect is vital.

  18. Cshowbread Says:

    my many words …
my many words without wisdom are pretty well summed up by KofK. sorry for the rants. I couldn’t figure out how to get that crosswise.
On the other hand riches do tempt us. They’re not terrible but the question for them is

  19. Cshowbread Says:

i do need to know …
i do need to know my bible better. :)

  20. Cshowbread Says:

    how do you …
how do you determine my judgment of others based on a few comments? And what to you mean judge. there are two greek definitions of the word used by Jesus? which one do you refer to?

  21. Cshowbread Says:

    and what made him …
and what made him forget God? the riches maybe? read Ecclesiastes.

  22. K0fK Says:

    that we should not …
that we should not praise god only in goodtimes but also in badtimes. god never leaves our side and the circumstances can not place any difference in this. we should not build our faith on the blessings in our life, but on Jesus Christ, who wash us clean from sin and made a way through our father in heaven.hope my english is understandable and that you get my point ;) in christ and in his like
    your brother

  23. K0fK Says:

    i am german, but i …
i am german, but i reflect all he wants to say is: that we should not place our faith in god because of his blessings or because of what we reflect is a blessing.

  24. summersunt Says:

    ummm, who said …
ummm, who said anything about placing Abraham as your pillar of faith???!!!! Are you purposely mis-reading equipment. The best thing, in all serious ness. Get familiar with your bible.

  25. summersunt Says:

    The word of G-D …
The word of G-D says Jesus BECAME poor. He was not poor – just as the devil intimated in the desert (40daysandnights) Jesus had the ability to mandate the angels. That is not poor!! Also get a grip of yourself! I do not place money before G-D it is way behind, it is what you do with it that counts. You judge people too much.
