    I think what Piper …
I think what Piper is trying to warn against is that under the “prosperity gospel”, one is led to expect nothing but wealth, health and happiness. The truth is, wether you’re a christian or not, bad times and tragedy are going to come around. And, if all you’ve been told to expect from being a christian are the good things in life, then when these bad days come, your faith may not be what it should in order to get through it. Example: “This wasn’t supposed to happen!” or “God doesn’t care !”

    Isn’t that the …
Isn’t that the point of the bible in christian religion, to rule there lives? I think the idea is become something greater than ourselves and by doing that means to give up your life to follow christ, his teachings and what not.

    that we should not …
that we should not praise god only in goodtimes but also in badtimes. god never leaves our side and the circumstances can not put any difference in this. we should not build our faith on the blessings in our life, but on Jesus Christ, who wash us clean from sin and made a way through our father in heaven.hope my english is understandable and that you get my point ;) in christ and in his love

i am german, but i think all he wants to say is: that we should not put our faith in god because of his blessings or because of what we think is a blessing.

    The word of G-D …
The word of G-D says Jesus BECAME poor. He was not poor – just as the devil intimated in the desert (40daysandnights) Jesus had the ability to command the angels. That is not poor!! Also get a grip of yourself! I do not put money before G-D it is way behind, it is what you do with it that counts. You judge people too much.
