can you point to one single verse that says i have to believe in the trinity to be saved? Jesus is deity because He is the Son of God but how can He be God and have a God at the same time? (Heb 1:8,9)

You can trace a lot …
You can trace a lot of it back to the 1920′s and 30′s. The early Pentecostals taught many of the same things taught today. However, in the late 1800′s the teaching was mainly around “health” with teachers like Mary Baker Eddie.
The church has always applied a earthly cause and effect to the promise of God. It comes from not reading scripture correctly or should I say rationally. The Bible can say anything when read analogously. The Bible has to be read as literature and not mystified.

I agree 100%! The thing that scares me is that those teachings are Christianized New Age teaching. The Christianized version will not SAY “I am God” but it will certainly make “me” the center of one’s life in a place where God SHOULD be. I feel that when the Antichrist appears, many Word Faith teachers will COMMAND their followers to follow him. (Of course that gets into another new teaching of going off the deep end in “obeying leadership.” Jesus is my leader!)

The Word Faith …
The Word Faith Movement in my opinion has the wrong view of God as it places trust in metaphysics as opposed to trust in God. It relies on a Universal Faith-Force that is in obedience to certain cosmic laws that God also must obey. God becomes something that can be manipulated through Positive Affirmation. Word Faith techniques such as Positive Confession and faith are not one in the same as it promotes ones own selfish desires

The belief that one …
The belief that one is able to wield a metaphysical force with infinite potential is not only an attempt to deny reality but an attempt to alter reality itself through the use of cosmic incantation.

The word “Forever” …
The word “Forever” is not really the word forever.
It is the word “Aion”, it means an age.
It is a period of time that is not defined yet.
We don’t know how long it will be.
There are many Aions. God made the Aions. There will be an end to this present Aion.
So how can Aion mean forever??
It cannot! It can be of a long or short period of time, but it cannot mean forever.

There is a Lake of …
There is a Lake of Fire. That is a place where the NON chosen are sent to be changed. To be punished, to cured.
Fire will be on the house of God NOW!
We get our changing now, the NON chosen, get theirs later, in the Lake of Fire.
It is a good thing.

So is your position …
So is your position still certain people will go to only for a time and then be saved later? Is God Jesus using for emphasis only and really has no intention of the word “forever”?

And also, to …
And also, to johnorigen:
There are a good number of awful translated verses in the Word of God.
Most, that I know of, have to do with Eternity (Aion really meaning age or undetermined period of time).
Sheol, Gehenna, Tatarus or Tataroos, Hades (The grave, death, a garbage dump) and Apollumi (meaning to abolish, etc.)
There are others but those are pretty messed up.
I mean, you could do the whole Angel thing.
But that is a word study, all on its own.

First off, it does …
First off, it does NOT say that he WILL kill both Body and Soul in Gehenna, but that God has power to do so.
Secondly, it states that Jesus came to save those that were destroyed in Matt. 18:11.
So even if you feel God WILL destroy (Apollumi) souls in Gehenna, you can see that Jesus came to save these very same lost or destroyed (Apollumi) souls.
So where is the problem?
Either you believe God will save the souls through Jesus Christ or you dont.

What do you mean?
…
What do you mean?
God is telling us to not fear man. But we should fear God, who has power over killing both Body and Soul in Gehenna. Mankind has NO domain over a mans soul. Only God has that.
First off, it does NOT say that he WILL kill both Body and Soul in Gehenna, but that God has power to do so.

So what do you do …
So what do you do with Matt. 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matt 18:11 and Matt 10 are said by the same Jesus. Also what is (Miss)? Is this a particular translation?

Actually, it is not …
Actually, it is not necessary to “choose” heaven or hell. If you don’t accept Jesus as your lord and saviour, you are condemned to Hell. Simple as that and supported by the scriptures.
