Donnie and Gabriel want the next “Azusa Revival,” but they don’t want what it takes to have a REAL Azusa revival:
1 Abolish the office of “senior pastor” along with the family name brand. God does not give his Glory to man.
2 Abolish church programs and gimmick altar calls, and just let the true Holy Spirit show up and reign.
3 QUIT SELLING THE GOSPEL. He quoted Matthew 10:8, but they don’t obey it. All they do is sell, sell, telethon, telethon.

I don’t have a “personal agenda” against JSM. Matter of fact, I consider them one of the best large ministries I know of. I pray for them, and wish them the best of God’s graces.
But the fact remains, it really is ridiculous how much money they go through to make radio stations that “God” supposedly told them to make.
He says the prosperity preachers say, “Give, give, give,” and they do.
But the Swaggarts say, “Give, give, give,” too, and its never enough.

Wade – it sounds like you have a personal agenda against JSM. They sell Bibles but do not preach that “gain is Godliness” like the prosperity guys do. People buy their Bibles to basically give to JSM. They do not lie to the people and promise prosperity in exchange for a ministry donation. Big, big, difference.

The point is, and I know because I was there for 2 years, the swaggarts do almost all of the exact same gimmicks the fakes on TBN and INSP do. The only key difference is terminology and the fact the Swaggarts obviously know better. On the one hand, they preach mostly the truth, but on the other hand, they do all the same magic number gimmicks and contests on fund raising day, and selling teaching materials at 600-700% markup above cost, or more.

Do you believe the swaggarts just got some revelation all of a sudden than nobody else knew?
My family has been preaching much the same thing for generations, and moreover, they do it for free.
